Project Work
Kahuku Wind Farm
RMT is currently constructing the Kahuku Wind facility located on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. The 30-MW facility will feature 12 wind turbines and will generate enough clean energy to power about 7,700 homes each year. RMT is providing engineering, procurement, and construction of the civil and electrical infrastructure, including roads, crane walks and pads, turbine foundations, tower erection, a 23-kV underground collector system, a 23/46-kV step-up substation, and a 7,000-square-foot operations and maintenance building.
Penobscot River Sediment Remediation
Located in Bangor, Maine, Dunnett’s Cove, a 10-acre area along the scenic Penobscot River, was heavily polluted with non-aqueous-phase liquid (NAPL) droplets and sheens from coal tar that migrated from river sediment to the surface. The tar, a known carcinogen, was deposited by a manufactured gas plant (MGP) that operated along the River from 1881 to 1963. The City of Bangor retained RMT to identify the source and extent of the NAPL, assess health risks, and develop potential remedies.
Energy Management — Industrial Client
Given growing customer demand for sustainable operations, a large packaging company decided it was time to better manage its energy usage and GHG emissions. Aware that impending energy and climate regulations are likely to increase energy and operating costs and affect business for years to come, the company opted to assess energy efficiency, alternative energy sources, regulatory compliance, and GHG emission reduction opportunities under one common strategy. RMT developed a base case that characterizes the company’s current energy usage and GHG emissions associated with energy generation and purchase.
