RMT'S ROLE:
- Engineering and construction of civil and electrical infrastructure
- 12 miles of underground collector
- 161/34.5 kV substation and interconnection
- 27 P&H tensionless foundations
- Tower wiring
- Energization and testing of substation and collector system
- Construction of state and county road intersections for equipment deliveries
- Construction of approximately 12 miles of access roads, three miles of crane walk paths, and 27 erection crane pads
- Restoration of the wind farm site, including farm land and roadways
- Fiber optics communication and SCADA
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS:
- First wind farm constructed in Missouri
- Mitigated critical risks associated with voltage control issues
- Successfully coordinated power interconnection between AECI and NW Electric (substation owner)
- Installed P&H foundations in Missouri soils
- Facilitated tower rescue training for three local fire departments, including delivery of tower rescue equipment, at no cost to the departments
- Exercised good land stewardship by maintaining site and roads during the construction period to prevent soil erosion
- Provided ongoing energy, environmental, and
economic benefits:
- Generates enough electricity to power approximately 16,780 homes annually
- Offsets the combustion of approximately 77,542 tons of coal per year, which reduces the equivalent of 102,060 tons of CO2 emissions to the atmosphere annually
- Provides income to local landowners through annual lease payments
