RMT'S ROLE:
- Engineering and construction entire BOP
- Two 34.5/345 kV 200-MW substations and interconnections, one 345 kV switchyard
- Construction of operations and maintenance facility
- 23-mile, 345 kV transmission line to interconnection
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS:
- Largest utility-scale wind energy facility in Indiana
- Largest single contract wind turbine power generation facility in U.S. history, built in a construction window of just nine months
- Managed complex interconnection for two new site substations to 345 kV transmission grid
- Maintained project schedule despite being constructed during worst winter and spring weather in the last 80 years
- Offered five local volunteer fire departments week-long training class on tower rescue
- Provided ongoing energy, environmental, and economic benefits:
- Generates enough electricity to power approximately 118,378 homes annually
- Offsets the combustion of approximately 547,033 tons of coal per year, which reduces the equivalent of 720,000 tons of CO2 emissions to the atmosphere annually
- Provides income to local landowners through annual lease payments
- Employs more than 12 full-time workers after completion
