RMT'S ROLE:
RMT is providing engineering, procurement, and construction of the civil and electrical system Balance-of-Plant (BOP), including the following:
- Access roads, crane paths and pads
- Rock anchor foundations
- 34.5-kV overhead and underground collection system
- 5.8-mile 115-kV overhead transmission line
- Substation
- Tower erection
- 5,000 SF operations and maintenance building
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS:
- The facility commenced commercial operation in December 2011
- Granite Reliable is the largest utility-scale wind facility in New Hampshire and has the capacity to power approximately 25,000 homes annually
- The Granite Reliable site is in the northern extension of the White Mountains, which consist of very hard, dense granitic rock requiring blasting and hammering for roads, collector trenching, foundations, and transmission line poles
- The northern climate and proximity to the Atlantic Ocean precipitation patterns resulted in significant rain and snow events that RMT managed throughout the project
- RMT scored within the top 1% of construction companies after a four-day site health and safety audit/inspection
