services, including:
- Fatal flaw analysis
- Concept development, meteorological data review, and energy production assessment
- Ecological, environmental, and historical assessments
- Local, state, and federal permitting
- Shadow-flicker analysis, noise evaluations, and microwave interference evaluations
- Setback requirements and land use approvals
- MISO interconnection study and negotiation support
- Prepared civil infrastructure design, including transportation logistics for turbine delivery
- Completed geotechnical investigations and designed turbine foundations
- Performed engineering and construction of civil and electrical system BOP
- Completed erection and in-tower wiring of turbines
- Designed and constructed the 34.5-kV collector system and 19 miles of fiber optic communication system and SCADA network
- Designed and constructed 34.5 kV-120 kV substation
- Constructed 10.2 miles of access roads, 26.5 miles of underground collector trenches, and 5,000 feet of directional boring
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS:
- First commercial-scale wind farm built in the State of Michigan
- Developed good working relationships with local labor unions, enabling union and nonunion staff to work side-by-side
- Provides ongoing energy, environmental, and
economic benefi ts to the local community:
- Generates enough electricity to power approximately 13,900 homes annually
- Offsets the equivalent of 127,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions to the atmosphere annually
- Creates additional income from both sales tax and property tax increases, benefi ting both local and state coffers
- Provides income to local landowners with a turbine site(s) on their property through annual lease payments
