RMT'S ROLE:
RMT is providing engineering, procurement and construction of the civil and electrical system Balance-of-Plant (BOP), including the following:
- Spread-footer foundations
- Access roads, crane pads and walks, and laydown yards
- 34.5kV/69kV substation
- Interconnect to 69 kV MECO transmission line
- 3-phase 34.5 kV electrical collection system
- SCADA system
- Turbine erection and tower wiring
- FAA lighting
- Operations and maintenance building remodel
- Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)
- FAA lighting and meterological tower
- Storm water management design
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS:
- The facility is currently under construction and is expected to commence commercial operation by December 2012
- Once completed, the KWPII Wind facility will have the capacity to power approximately 6,000 homes annually
