RMT'S ROLE:

RMT is providing engineering, procurement and construction of the civil and electrical system Balance-of-Plant (BOP), including the following:

  • Spread-footer foundations
  • Access roads, crane pads and walks, and laydown yards
  • 34.5kV/69kV substation
  • Interconnect to 69 kV MECO transmission line
  • 3-phase 34.5 kV electrical collection system
  • SCADA system
  • Turbine erection and tower wiring
  • FAA lighting
  • Operations and maintenance building remodel
  • Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)
  • FAA lighting and meterological tower
  • Storm water management design

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS:

  • The facility is currently under construction and is expected to commence commercial operation by December 2012
  • Once completed, the KWPII Wind facility will have the capacity to power approximately 6,000 homes annually
