Rich Reagent Injection (RRI)

RRI is an advanced NOx reduction technology developed by EPRI, which sprays ammine reagents to the boiler. SmartBurn uses Applied Computational Modeling (ACM) to specify injector location, spray droplet characteristics, and determine the amount of chemical optimization. SmartBurn injection system design is built to include injection skids, injector lances, nozzle selections, and injection P&ID control system. Up to 44% NOx reduction and 0.115 lb/MMBtu NOx emission were achieved through a full-scale demonstration of cyclone unit.
